Red Canyon, also founded by Rangeway CEO Zak Winnick, will roast and brew single-origin coffee on site inside each Basecamp’s climate-controlled Driver’s Lounge.

Red Canyon Roasting Company launched before Rangeway, born from Winnick’s experience roasting coffee from the back of an electric truck powered by the vehicle itself. The roasting moved indoors, but the conviction stayed: source with care, roast in small batches, and never cut corners on quality. When Winnick later founded Rangeway, bringing Red Canyon into the Basecamp experience was a natural fit. The coffee program already existed, already met the standard, and already shared the same roots in the EV community.

The on-site roasting model sets the partnership apart from typical charging network food and beverage programs, which rely on pre-packaged products or third-party vendors. At a Rangeway Basecamp, drivers will watch beans being roasted and brewed in the same space where they charge, turning a routine stop into something worth remembering.

The addition of Red Canyon’s on-site roasting operation brings a café experience built specifically for the 20- to 30-minute charging window, offering freshly roasted and brewed single-origin coffee alongside a curated food and beverage menu.

Travellers also have the option to have fresh coffee roasted on-site, to order, while they wait for their car to finish charging, offering a unique experience only found at Basecamp Red Canyon Roasting locations.

Sourcing and Sustainability

Red Canyon sources exclusively from farming cooperatives that practice sustainable cultivation. The company pays above Fair Trade minimum prices and reinvests a portion of every sale into the communities where its coffee is grown.
